Youth Programme Manager (12 month fixed-term contract)

Full time position (35 hours), part time hours considered

Based in HQ in Central London or home-based

£32,000 per year home-based or £34,670 office-based, inc. London weighting

The Cystic Fibrosis Trust is seeking an enthusiastic, responsible and organised individual to lead and develop our programme of work for young people affected by cystic fibrosis.

This role will suit someone who is a passionate advocate for youth involvement, who will ensure the voices of young people with CF are heard within and outside of the organisation. The successful candidate will have demonstrable experience of developing and delivering impactful programmes of work for young people, as well as the communication skills, ideas and energy needed to effectively engage young audiences. Experience of working with young people with long-term health conditions – and an understanding of the impact such conditions can have on their aspirations and life opportunities – would be an advantage.

Overseeing our Children in Need-funded programme Building Brighter Futures, which delivers online workshops and talks to young people with cystic fibrosis, is a key part of this role. The remit also includes line management of the Digital Youth Outreach Officer, regular liaison with our youth advisory group and clinical advisors, and working with colleagues to develop, implement and monitor targeted information and support initiatives to meet clearly defined needs.

Cystic fibrosis can be particularly isolating, as people with the condition cannot meet in person due to the risk of passing on dangerous infections. As such, our youth programme is largely delivered online. Excellent online facilitation skills, experience of delivering online events, and a good working knowledge of digital platforms used to engage and reach youth audiences and particularly harder to reach groups are all integral to this role.

A detailed knowledge of safeguarding is essential, and a DBS check will be required.

The role is advertised as a one-year contract, but there may be potential to extend beyond this date. This role is being advertised as a full-time position, but flexible working requests, including part time hours, will be considered.

Benefits include 30 days annual leave and opportunities for learning and development.

Applications for this role are now closed.
